It is useful to check your data to understand how much you have used, and how much different activities cost. You can check how much data you have, just like when you check how many minutes or texts you have by typing in a code on your phone from your mobile network.

Everyone wants to avoid spending credits and money when using data and here are a few ways to do that:

Connect to Wi-Fi instead of mobile internet or use non-internet services, like SMS and phone calls. Sometimes, internet service providers offer Wi-Fi in public places for anyone to use, free of charge. You might hear these places called “wireless hotspots.” Businesses may also make their wireless networks available for customers to use.

To connect to the internet using Wi-Fi, you will need to do the following:

Step 1: Go to your phone’s settings.

Step 2: Locate the Wi-Fi option.

Step 3: Select the Available Networks option

Step 4: Select the name of the wireless network you want to access. Enter a password, if required.

Turn off automatic video playing, especially on apps like Facebook and YouTube. You can do this from your phone settings.

Turn off automatic app updating. You can do this from your phone settings.

Turn off data when you know you won’t be using it. You can do this from your phone settings.

You should use one of these data saving methods when you:

  • Plan to be on the internet for a long time
  • Download/upload large multimedia items, like pictures and songs
  • Download/update applications from the KaiStore
  • Watch videos from YouTube or other websites/apps
