Twitter gives you privacy options that help control who can see your tweets.

We recommend you select the “Protect your Tweets” option, at least when you’re first starting out. This means that only people you approve will be able to see your tweets. If you do not select this option, anyone using Twitter will be able to see the tweets you send.

We also recommend you turn off “tweet with a location,” which makes it possible to share the location from which you’re tweeting.

Additionally, you’ll be able to decide if you want people to find you on Twitter by your email or phone number, decide if people can add you to their team, and decide if people who don’t know you are allowed to send you private messages.

Twitter also tries to protect your safety by giving you the option to hide sensitive content and remove blocked/muted accounts from your search results.
